Reale views the exhibition Art of the Vote at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute with her daughter.
“One of the reasons I got into the race for Oneida County Legislator is to increase the representation of women in government. Today women only make up 26% of the body of those elected to serve on the board of legislators. I hope to be an example to my daughter that it's time to change that. Its not enough to exercise my right to vote. 2021 is the time to exercising my right to run, and to lead.”
10 works by local artist are on display now through March 28th. The exhibition is sponsored by The Women's Fund of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, whose mission is to create economic, educational and personal growth opportunities for women and girls. Each of the 10 chosen entries is a personal depiction of the Suffragist Movement, the passage of the 19th Amendment and women's right to vote.
